Building Community At Events

Events where large groups of people come together form temporary communities that can create long-lasting ties of friendship, business and more. Take, for example, the World Equestrian Games. 2010 is a big year for the games already as it will be the first time they have been held outside of Europe. Taking place in the US - Kentucky, of course - will bring not only people from all over Europe, but from all over the United States as well. Together, riders, trainers, owners, vendors and fans alike will all gather to celebrate and revel in the World Equestrian Games. As with all events in which people have gathered together with a common cause, there will be a sense of group unity that pervades, despite the competitive nature of the event. This can be seen with many other events, conferences and gatherings of people.
