Fuel economy 101

As gas prices continue to rise and fall, fuel economy is something that is on everybody’s mind. What can be done to increase fuel economy? What about long road trips and family vacations? One of the easiest solutions to help with fuel economy is to roll the windows down instead of using the air conditioning. While this will save you gas, there is nothing better than a fresh breeze blowing in your face and through your hair while you drive. Another great way to help fuel economy is to keep from revving the engine up and also ‘gunning’ it at a light. That excessive RPM usage burns a lot more fuel than one would think. Having the oil changed on a regular basis or every 3000 miles is also a good way. Fuel injector cleaner, new or clean spark plugs, new tires or even rotated ones, engine tune up, and so on are also more ways to help your vehicle’s fuel economy. Just because it only says 32 miles per gallon highway doesn’t mean you can’t do more.
