Helping Kids in the Classroom

When it comes to yoga in the classroom many teachers are finding that the benefits extend far beyond teaching children physical fitness. Obviously, yoga poses for kids do help kids to build strength, flexibility and balance. However, they also instill a sense of self confidence in kids as they learn new poses and overcome challenges.

In the classroom, yoga poses are ideal for helping an overstimulated class calm down as well as helping to increase the concentration span of the kids. Yoga poses can help to restore energy flow in the body, and it helps to regulate the nervous system- two things that any teacher will tell you can greatly increase any child's ability to sit still, stay awake, and pay attention in school.
