Keeping it clean

Look around as you drive from one place to the next, and strewn about your vehicle on both sides is trash. It is up to the local community to keep their environment clean as this buildup of trash can harm the delicate ecosystem. There are different ways that you can help the community stay clean and help is never turned down. Highways can be adopted by a group or organization, and by doing so, it is up to that group to keep that highway clean. Boy Scouts are often seen traversing up and down highways collecting trash. Another frequent sight is prisoners that pick up trash in an attempt to help beautify the local community. Regardless of your affiliation, it’s always helpful to pick up trash and help keep the ecosystem balanced. Though littering is illegal and subject to fines and tickets, people do not seem deterred at tossing out cups, wrappers, or cigarette butts out the window. These acts cause communities to become trashy and keep people from visiting and spending money, which also helps the economy.
