Spruce Up Your Outside Spaces

Spring is the time to start sprucing up the outside space around your home. The first steps would be to clean up from the fall and winter. Although most of us get the leaves raked and put away outside furniture and decorations, there still seems to be a lot of debris that builds up around the house. From blowing leaves to fallen branches and twigs from the snow and wind. This last year was an unusually hard winter, which brought down more branches and seemed to blow more leaves from neighboring property around our own homes.

Once the debris is cleaned up, then it's time to take stock of the shrubbery and trees that may need to have the dead branches trimmed. Next you should start conditioning the soil around plants, and then start adding more annual flowers to add some color to the gardens. It is past time to move to the lawn now, and although a lot of people skip the step of rolling and reseeding this helps to break up clumps of roots and replenish any patches of grass that may have been killed over the winter. It's also a great time to get that summer vegetable garden growing!
